Job Purpose

The activities of the Amcor Zele and Leominster site focus on the extrusion of stretch films for the agricultural and industrial sector and on the printing of films mainly for the frozen food market.

As part of the Global R&D organization, the searched Product Application Engineer will be mainly responsible for the technical follow-up on the field of the agriculture and industrial stretch film applications, for the OEM technical linked relationships and for defined R&D related projects. The role requires close links with internal and external stakeholders in order to generate and deliver profitable growth through support on OEM relationships, his application expertise, product optimizations and new product implementation, created by the selected R&D projects and in line with the defined mid and long term strategy of the stretch films applications. It requires up to 50% of travelling. This position will report to the Product Development Manager.

 

 

Principal Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the OEM technical linked relationships.
  • Supporting stakeholders as expert in the application and specialist of the stretch films.
  • Follow-up new or adapted machines in the stretch film market.
  • Technical investigate new potential applications when linked to R&D related projects.
  • Organizing field trials from new developed or optimized stretch films.
  • Advisor in the selection of projects in collaboration with the Product Development Team, Sales Director and Product Manager.
  • Provide assistance and involved in claim handling in case of application related issues.
  • Responsible for project management of appointed development programs.
  • Optimizing efficiency in the field technical activities in data management, knowledge transfer and processes.
  • Contributing for a safety environment during internal and external activities

Qualifications/Requirements

Formal Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in (Applied) Sciences
  • Expertise in machine devices is an asset
  • Agricultural background
  • Project management experience
  • Fluency in English. French and German is an asset
