Line Manager’s Job Title: Plant General Manager

 

Job Purpose

 

The Quality Assurance manager while managing the Quality department, will have overall accountability for the assurance, regulatory and product safety aspects of the site and its products. Ensuring compliance to BRC and ISO standards is a fundamental part of the role.

 

 

Principal Accountabilities

 

  • Acts as a safety leader and always puts safety first. Works together with EHS Manager to establish and maintain all procedures to assure a safe working environment.
  • Manage the quality departmental team, including talent management and development plans for all personnel.
  • Daily quality control and the long-term development of quality.
  • Accountable for quality control lab and all associated operations.
  • Overseer of the quality systems and auditing programme to ensure BRC/ISO compliance requirements are met and maintained. 
  • Overseer of pest control activity and resulting actions at site.
  • Site leader for HACCP and food safety aspects.
  • Responsible for the assurance of site regulatory and product safety requirements to ensure products remain compliant in the industry.
  • Accountable for customer centric quality, complaint systems, and defect reduction plans.
  • Leads quality improvement projects and monitors quality costs.
  • Interface with external resin suppliers.
  • Participates in improving overall Continuous Improvement (CI) and Daily Management (DM) processes and leads QB pillar work.
  • Ensures that the plant is producing high quality products, delivers against our committed customer service goals and optimizes efficiency/productivity.
  • Any other requirements to provide leadership within the operation.

 

Qualifications/Requirements

Experience

  • 5+ year’s management experience preferred.
  • BRC and ISO experience in packaging manufacturing is fundamental.
  • Qualifications and/or good experience in food contact substances and regulatory legislation for plastic packaging an advantage
  • HACCP experience an advantage.

 

 

 

Specific Skills and Abilities

  • Internal and external facing customer familiarity.
  • Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Analytical approach.
  • Strong discipline of work; well-organized and decisive.
