For our EHS department, we are looking for a successor at the earliest possible date for a

 

Head of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS)

 

Your tasks:

  • As part of the management team, leading the EHS environment, health, safety department with four safety specialists and one assistant position
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant country-specific, legal and internal Group requirements
  • Maintaining / optimizing the site's EHS responsibility structures
  • Collaboration and cooperation with the corporate functions of the Business Group and two Business Units to which the two plants belong
  • Evaluation and implementation of the legal environment in EHS
  • Coordinating the tasks arising from the legal requirements, Group specifications and supporting implementation within the company across all levels
  • Tasks of the senior safety specialist in accordance with Occupational Safety Act for the company
  • Supporting management and executives in defining and communicating clear responsibilities for environmental, health and safety requirements
  • Contact for all EHS-relevant authorities, including the employers' liability insurance association, and directing the management of requirements and approvals
  • Maintaining and continuously developing the “Integrated Management System IMS” with a focus on the ISO 14001 and 45001 standards and on operational
    environmental protection and occupational safety
  • Conducting internal and external audits to maintain ISO certifications and within the Group
  • Organization of the legally required company officers (immission control, water protection, waste, hazardous goods, radiation and laser protection)
  • Organization of various reports in accordance with Group specifications
  • Supporting the budget process for both parts of the plant
  • Initiate and lead projects to assess and optimize the working environment in terms of health, environment and safety
  • Opportunity to participate in association organizations on environmental and occupational health and safety issues and developments
  • Organization of the legally required company officers (immission control, water protection, waste, hazardous goods, radiation and laser protection)

What you need to bring along:

  • Completed studies in a technical or scientific (engineering) degree program
  • Qualification as a safety specialist and environmental protection officer in accordance with German legal requirements
  • Several years of experience in the successful management of an EHS department in international group structures
  • Ability to communicate successfully with all interfaces across all levels and to lead interdisciplinary teams
  • Confident knowledge of written and spoken German and English and ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience in project management
  • Analytical thinking, strong communication skills, strong assertiveness and a very high level of commitment
  • Good knowledge of MS Office as well as experience in SAP R/3
  • Willingness to travel within the Group environment
