About the role

This critical role within Amcor’s Global Procurement team oversees end-to-end category management of Resin (PE, PP, PET, specialty resins) across APAC. You will develop and execute data-driven sourcing strategies, optimize costs, ensure supply security, and build collaborative relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders, aligning with Amcor’s procurement excellence and sustainability goals.

Key Job Accountabilities

Category Strategy Development & Execution:

  • Develop and implement short/long-term APAC Resin sourcing strategies aligned with global procurement objectives, regional needs and sustainability targets (recycled resin, carbon reduction).
  • Conduct APAC market analysis (supply/demand, pricing, cost drivers, regulations) to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Optimize category portfolio via supplier rationalization, specification standardization and value engineering to improve TCO and efficiency.

 

Supplier Management & Relationship Building:

  • Identify, evaluate and onboard high-performing resin suppliers (global/regional/local) with rigorous qualification, focusing on quality, cost, delivery, sustainability and compliance (ISO
  • 9001, ESG, SMETA/BSCI).
  • Negotiate strategic contracts, pricing and SLAs to secure advantages and drive savings; manage contract lifecycle and compliance.
  • Foster long-term supplier partnerships, conduct SQDC/sustainability performance reviews and implement corrective actions.
  • Leverage Amcor’s global scale to align regional suppliers with global procurement standards.

 

Cost Optimization & Value Creation:

  • Drive cost reduction via competitive bidding, volume consolidation and process optimization; track and report savings to leadership.
  • Monitor resin price trends, implement proactive strategies to mitigate volatility and collaborate with finance on cost forecasting.
  • Optimize inventory, reduce lead times and improve supply chain efficiency with APAC manufacturing and planning teams.

 

Supply Chain Risk Management:

  • Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks (disruptions, geopolitics, shortages) via risk assessment and contingency planning.
  • Implement supply chain visibility using tools like GEP SMART to monitor supplier performance and inventory in real time.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with local/regional EHS and trade regulations.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration & Cross-Functional Leadership:

  • Partner with APAC manufacturing, R&D and planning teams to understand resin needs, support
  • NPI and resolve supply issues.
  • Collaborate with global procurement to share best practices and leverage global supplier relationships.
  • Communicate category performance, strategies and risks to leadership with data-driven insights.

 

Compliance & Continuos Improvement:

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with Amcor’s policies, code of conduct and local regulations.
  • Drive procurement process improvement using digital tools to enhance efficiency and transparency.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and innovative resin solutions to support sustainability goals.
