Job Overview

 

The Blown Film & Extrusion SME & CI Manager serves as the subject matter expert for blown film extrusion processes and technologies. This role leads process standardization, continuous improvement, troubleshooting, and technology initiatives that improve safety, quality, service, productivity, and cost performance across multiple manufacturing facilities.

 

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Geographic Scope: Asia Pacific
  • Lead standardization and continuous improvement initiatives focused on blown film extrusion operations.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for resin handling, extrusion, gauge control, bubble stability, web handling, and winding processes.
  • Develop and implement process standards, best practices, and operating procedures that improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
  • Identify and execute cost-reduction opportunities through waste elimination, process optimization, material utilization, and equipment improvements.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and R&D teams to improve process capability and operational performance.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions related to film quality, process variation, and manufacturing losses.
  • Support equipment and technology strategies involving extrusion systems, dies, air rings, IBC systems, gauge control, and winding technologies.
  • Coach and mentor engineers and plant teams on blown film processing fundamentals, troubleshooting, and best practices.
  • Manage and lead projects that deliver measurable improvements in KPIs, productivity, quality, and cost savings.

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field.
  • 7-10 years of manufacturing experience, including significant experience in blown film extrusion processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in blown film process optimization, troubleshooting, and process standardization.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of resin handling systems, extrusion technology, gauge control, film quality systems, and web handling processes.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive sustainable business results
  • Able to travel dometically and internationally.
  • Proficient in English and Mandarin (spoken and written) to effectively support business communications and stakeholder engagement.
