Regional Communications Lead

 

In the framework of the AFLA Communications strategy, the AFLA Regional Communications Lead, sets and develops internal and external communications campaigns in support of the company’s growth agenda. The person, partners with key AFLA and corporate stakeholders to lead and project manage regional campaigns and will advise business leaders on communications activities to engage with target internal and external audiences.

As part of the AFLA communications team, the Regional Communications Lead will also collaborate with communications colleagues across the Business Group to guide the communications network and identify opportunities for improved ways of working. The person will also be continuously interacting with members of the global Communications team and other business groups.

 

Principal Accountabilities

  • Serve as a strategic business partner to propose creative and effective ways to engage with key audiences.
  • Lead activities outlined in the communication plan in coordination with business, HR community and all relevant stakeholders.
  • Partner with key stakeholders on the development and execution of innovative communications campaigns that boost the growth mindset to inspire and energize employees.
  • Develop strong relationships with business/functional leaders and communications colleagues.
  • Collaborate with AFLA communications colleagues to co-create regional campaigns that require local activation.
  • Manage production of relevant and timely communications materials including, but not limited to, announcements, articles, executive messages, posts on digital channels, etc.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of communication channels and initiatives, seek feedback from audience and identify areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to identifying, sharing, and developing best practices – individually, and as a regional Communications function.
  • Seek for external communications opportunities to continue building Amcor’s image.
  • Protect and enhance the Amcor brand at every opportunity.

 

Formal Qualifications and Experience

  • Fluent in Spanish and English with excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; exceptional copywriting, strong storytelling and fine-tuned editorial skills. Portuguese, a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or related discipline. Master’s degree in Communications, Audio-visual Communications or related discipline, a plus.
  • A minimum of 5-8  years of experience in Corporate Communications.
  • Experience in matrixed, global organizations.
  • Proven experience developing a wide array of content.
  • Proven project management skills; familiar with change communications.
  • Experience managing agencies and vendors and related budgets.
