Job Overview
The “S&OP and Demand Planning Supervisor” is responsible for driving an integrated approach to Sales and Operations Planning, aligning demand and supply to support business objectives. This role develops accurate demand forecasts by collaborating closely with Commercial team to incorporate customer insights and market trends ensuring forecasts are responsive to changing conditions. Additionally, the S&OP and Demand Planning Lead leads initiatives to improve S&OP processes, enhances cross-functional alignment and support proactive decision-making. Through optimizing inventory and supply strategies, this role ensures the supply chain remains agile, risk-aware and aligned with organization goals.
Principal Accountabilities
1. S&OP Process Leadership and Improvement :
• Facilitate the S&OP process by leading monthly planning cycle, hosting cross-functional alignment meeting.
• Ensure timely communication of demand and supply requirement across departments.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance S&OP efficiency, visibility and alignment with strategic goals.
2. Demand Forecasting and Planning :
• Develop and maintain accuracy, data-driven demand forecasts by analyzing historical data, market insights and customer input from Commercial and Marketing.
• Refine forecasting methodologies to improve forecast reliability and responsiveness to changing in market conditions.
3. Cross-functional Collaboration and Alignment :
• Act as the central coordinator between Commercial, Marketing, Finance and Operations to incorporate insights into the S&OP and demand planning processes.
• Drive alignment across teams to ensure operational plans meet both immediate and long-term business objectives.
4. Inventory and Supply Chain Synchronization :
• Collaborate closely with Supply Planning to balance production schedules, inventory policies and replenishment strategies with demand forecasts.
• Focus on minimizing stockouts, optimizing inventory turnover and meeting service level in line with S&OP outcomes.
5. Process Enhancement and Continuous Improvement :
• Lead initiatives to assess and improve S&OP and demand planning processes, adopting best practices and exploring new tools and technologies.
• Foster a flexible, transparent planning framework that support proactive, data-driven decision-making.
6. Risk and Opportunity Assessment :
• Identify risks and opportunities within demand forecasts and collaborate with stakeholders to develop mitigation strategies or capitalize on growth prospects.
• Conduct scenario planning to prepare for fluctuations in demand and supply, ensuring supply chain resilience.
7. S&OP Community and Process Building :
• Cultivate a collaborative S&OP culture by engaging with cross-functional partners, promoting best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Encourage shared ownership and active participation within the S&OP community.
8. Performance Tracking and KPI Management :
• Monitor and report on key KPIs such as forecast accuracy, service level and inventory DIO and turnover.
• Use performance data to identify improvement opportunities, refine planning strategies and support informed decision-making.
Qualifications/Requirements
Knowledge and Experience
1. 5+ years of experience in demand planning, S&OP or a related supply chain function, ideally within the similar industry.
2. Strong knowledge of supply chain process, including inventory management, production planning and distribution logistics.
3. A basic understanding of commercial and finance principles is essential to align demand planning with business objective and financial goals.
4. Experience with ERP system, demand planning software and data analytics tools. Familiarity with advance forecasting techniques and statistical analysis is a plus.
5. Proven track record of leading cross-functional projects and initiatives with the ability to manage multiple priority effectively.
6. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field. A master’s degree in Finance or professional certification (e.g. CPM, CSCP) is a plus.
