Job Overview
Ensure the safety of raw materials used in the production process by developing systems for raw material development, production development, and inspection to meet customer confidence. Find suitable tools or equipment for experimental design to be used in raw material safety inspection, including issuing safety certification documents for products to consumers.


 

Principal Accountabilities

 

Job Duties | Expected Results | % of time spent on each duty

 

1.    Responsible for requesting safety certification documents and verifying the completeness of documents received from manufacturers, including raw material specifications, MSDS for all types and grades of raw materials. Send the following forms to manufacturers:
•    Certification of compliance (CoC) for raw materials used
•    Declaration of chemical substances for materials used
•    Declaration on the substances of very high concern (SVHC) of REACH
•    Other safety certification documents as required by customers not specified in the company's forms
If raw materials are found to be unsafe, notify the Director of Research and Development immediately to consider discontinuing the use of those raw materials and explain to the manufacturer to find new replacement materials. Store received safety documents in the supplier CoC master list file and update with the manufacturer every 2 years. For new types/grades of raw materials, verify the completeness of documents and present to the Director of Research and Development for approval to conduct Trial lot 1 in the M/C Trial evaluation report.
•    Complete safety certification documents to ensure the safety of all raw materials used in production
•    Create Raw material food safety database | 25% | Weekly

 

2.    Responsible for issuing product safety certification documents to customers.
Issue product safety certification documents that meet the standards of the Ministry of Public Health Announcement No. 295 (2005), including issuing specific hazardous substance certifications such as melamine, heavy metals, or other substances as required by customers. Present to the Director of Research and Development for approval and coordinate with the sales department to send documents to customers.
•    Ensure customer/consumer confidence that products are safe and meet international standards
•    Create Customer food safety database | 25% | As required by customers

 

3.    Responsible for system setup and activities to ensure food safety, such as planning annual final product sample analysis according to migration quality standards, pathogen analysis according to the Ministry of Public Health Announcement No. 295 (2005), etc.
•    Ensure production processes are safe and comply with safety regulations | 15% | Annually or as required for new product structures

 

4.    Create and initiate systems to ensure that research and development activities comply with food safety, including raw material development, product development, quality control, and production processes according to food safety regulations.
Responsible for system verification and annual summary report to ensure the system is functioning well.
•    Implement systems according to food safety regulations | 15% | Annually

 

5.    Responsible for finding suitable tools or equipment for experimental design and designing experimental methods for raw material safety inspection.
•    Ensure packaging testing is accurate and complies with food safety regulations | 10% | Annually

 

6.    Responsible for studying food and drug regulations and laws, collecting analysis data related to raw materials from various sources such as the Internet, suppliers, etc., for research purposes. Update news related to potentially hazardous substances and contamination from packaging to food.
•    Ensure raw materials used are safe and comply with various standards | 5% | Weekly

 

7.    Collect data on the analytical capabilities of ISO17025 certified laboratories, both government and private, including analysis prices for reference in selecting laboratories.
•    Ensure samples analyzed meet quality standards and have negotiation power for analysis prices | 5% | Annually

 

8.    Perform other duties at the same level as initially assigned by supervisors.
•    Ensure assigned tasks are of quality, complete, and timely | As required

 

9.    Follow ISO9001, ISO14001, GMP, HACCP, and FSSC22000 policies and procedures strictly and participate in system activities to achieve EHS, ISO, and GMP goals.
•    Ensure the company has effective management systems | As required

 

 

Qualifications/Requirements 
Knowledge and Experience 
•    Bachelor's degree in Packaging Technology, Polymer Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
•    Master's degree in Packaging Technology, Polymer Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
•    At least 2 years of work experience in the food or packaging industry.
•    Basic knowledge of food and drug regulations/laws.
•    Experience in coordinating with government agencies such as the Food and Drug Administration.

 

Skills and Abilities
•    Knowledge of food and drug safety regulations/laws such as EU, USFDA, Thai FDA, etc.
•    Knowledge of packaging technology, polymer science, and/or food technology.
•    English communication skills both within and outside the organization, including speaking, writing, and presenting.
•    Computer skills, Microsoft Office programs
