  • Identify innovative materials and design alternatives to improve cost and sustainability performance
  • Incorporate CO₂ and environmental impact assessments into decision-making and business cases
  • Act as a key technical partner across Procurement, Logistics, Operations, Sales, and external suppliers

Challenges:

  • Balancing competing priorities: cost, sustainability, performance, and customer expectations
  • Driving standardization across diverse markets with different needs and maturity levels
  • Reducing complexity while maintaining agility and responsiveness to the business
  • Navigating trade-offs between packaging optimization and logistics/warehousing efficiency
  • Influencing and aligning multiple stakeholders across functions and countries

Skills & Competencies:

  • Deep technical knowledge of secondary packaging materials and design, ideally in B2B environments
  • Strategic thinking combined with hands-on problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without authority
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work across cultures and functions
  • Familiarity with packaging design tools and analytical methodologies
  • Solid understanding of sustainability practices and trends in packaging
  • Knowledge of supply chain, logistics, and distribution dynamics
  • Strong alignment with Amcor core values

Qualifications:

  • 8–12+ years of experience in secondary packaging engineering or related roles
  • Proven track record in packaging design, testing, optimization, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience evaluating trade-offs between packaging design and supply chain costs
  • Background working in cross-functional and regional/global environments
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and working with external stakeholders
  • Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and material innovation in packaging
  • Understanding of key raw materials (feedstocks) impacting packaging costs

Education & Certification:
