Job Purpose

The Technology Manager is responsible for leading technological development and industrialization activities at the Prostějov site. This role ensures the effective implementation of new technologies, materials and processes, while driving innovation, continuous improvement and operational excellence.

The role manages the technology and pre-press teams and acts as a key interface between production, R&D, suppliers and other internal stakeholders.

 

Job Dimensions & Scope 

Reports to: Plant General Manager

People management: 11 direct reports (Technologists, Prepress, Industrialization roles) and 1 indirect role (NBO)

Geographical scope: Primarily local (Prostějov site) with regional collaboration

 

Principal Accountabilities 

Lead and develop a team of technologists, R&D specialists and prepress specialists

Drive the implementation and set-up of new technologies, ensuring all technical documentation is completed and maintained

Monitor technological developments and innovations; define and maintain the site technology roadmap and promote new projects

Lead development of new materials and support product innovation initiatives

Manage and execute technological trials, including testing, validation and industrialization of new products and processes

Oversee pre-press activities and ensure alignment with production and customer requirements

Collaborate with suppliers of raw materials and technologies; resolve technical issues and support material development

Support manufacturing through process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives

Act as the key link between site operations, R&D, and business stakeholders

Contribute to achieving site performance targets through technology-driven improvements

 

Major Challenges & Complexities

  • Promote a strong safety culture and demonstrates adherence to all Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures. 
  • Actively contribute to a high performance culture and innovation at the site
  • Facilitate and enforce all company policies and procedures.
  • Meet or exceed plant business plan and KPI’s.
  • Integrate Continuous Improvement initiatives into the culture of the Plant.
  • Transferring know-how, sharing knowledge

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  1. Formal Qualifications and Experience

Strong experience in manufacturing environment (ideally flexible packaging or similar)

Proven experience in leading technical / R&D / process teams

Experience with implementation of new technologies, products and materials

Experience with process optimization and continuous improvement
