Job Purpose

 

To manage and oversee production operations within a manufacturing or industrial setting, ensuring that production targets are met efficiently and safely. The role involves optimizing the use of machinery and materials, maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards, and supervising shift workers to maintain discipline and productivity. The position also includes decision-making authority to propose improvements and ensure a safe working environment.

 

The Production Shift Leader is:

• the operations partner responsible for executing the shift production plan and achieving set performance targets

• ensuring optimal use of machinery, materials, and workforce to meet productivity and quality standards

• leading the shift team by promoting discipline, safety, and motivation, while ensuring compliance with operational procedures

• acting on issues related to raw material availability, equipment performance, and documentation accuracy to maintain production continuity

• driving continuous improvement by proposing technical measures to enhance efficiency and workplace safety

• ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, and fostering a clean and secure working environment

 

MAIN DUTIES PERFORMED BY THE EMPLOYEE IN THIS POSITION:
•    Responsible for ensuring and fulfilling all set production targets, for meeting monthly and annual economic production indicators
•    Responsible for maximising the utilisation of production machinery and equipment capacities and meeting applicable performance standards
•    Responsible for the correct and accurate maintenance of operational technical documentation and production documentation
•    Responsible for the smooth and timely ordering of raw materials and materials for production and for their physical 
receipt and safe storage 
•    Responsible for fulfilling the shift plan
•    Responsible for compliance with applicable guidelines and quality management systems 
•    Creates favourable working conditions and ensures occupational health and safety for all shift workers
•    Ensures the adoption of timely and effective measures to ensure the specified care and protection of company property within the scope of the workplaces for which he/she is responsible
•    Ensures compliance with applicable legal and other regulations relating to work discipline, guides subordinate employees in work discipline, appreciates their initiative and work effort, and ensures that there are no violations of work discipline or failure to fulfil work duties; resolves any violations of work discipline by taking effective measures 
•    Regularly checks the work of his/her subordinates 
•    Passes on information about the shift.
•    Performs other tasks as instructed by his/her superior

 

RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE AREA:
•    Compliance with technological discipline
•    Cleaning the workplace and designated areas
•    Compliance with occupational safety and fire protection principles
•    Use of PPE specified by the employer
•    Participation in training and mandatory examinations; undergoing regular medical examinations.
•    Within the scope of their powers and competences, they are responsible for compliance with all defined quality requirements.

 

POWERS AND INDEPENDENT DECISION-MAKING:
•    Proposing technical measures to increase work productivity and save materials and energy
•    Refuse to perform work which he/she reasonably believes to pose an immediate and serious threat to his/her life or health, or to the life or health of others
•    Participate in the creation of a healthy and safe working environment

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS 
•    3 years in a managerial position in production operations
•    Education: Technical education – secondary
•    PC skills – MS Office
•    Driving licence – category B
•    Communication skills, independence, responsibility, analytical thinking, initiative
•    Ability to manage and motivate a work team
•    Work in continuous mode (24/7)
