JOB PURPOSE

 

The Procurement Data & Analytics Analyst is responsible for supporting Amcor's Procurement function across AFEMEA, ASC and RPSI through advanced analytics, data visualisation, and procurement data management.

 

The role has a dual focus:

 

  • Approximately 50% dedicated to developing analytics, dashboards, reports and insights that support procurement decision making and performance improvement.
  • Approximately 50% dedicated to supporting category managers with data collection, cleansing, validation and analysis for sourcing events, RFQs/RFPs and category strategies, while establishing structured and sustainable data repositories.

 

A key objective of the role is to standardise and connect procurement data from multiple internal and external sources, creating a reliable, scalable and governed data foundation. This foundation will enable improved decision making, support master data management principles, facilitate ongoing data refreshes, and prepare procurement data for future AI-driven analysis, automation and insight generation.

 

JOB DIMENSIONS & SCOPE

 

Scope: AFEMEA, ASC and RPSI

 

  • Supporting procurement activities across more than 150 manufacturing locations.
  • Supporting multiple indirect procurement categories.
  • Working with diverse data sources including multiple ERP systems, spend analytics tools, sourcing platforms, supplier databases, contract management systems and external market intelligence sources.
  • Establishing and maintaining structured procurement datasets which support category management, sourcing activities, supplier performance management and procurement reporting.
  • Supporting the development of procurement data standards, governance practices and master data structures.

 

The Procurement Data & Analytics Analyst shall become an advanced user of Amcor's procurement technologies and support the evolution of procurement data capabilities across the organisation.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

Analytics, Reporting & Data Visualisation (Approximately 50%)

Develop, maintain and enhance procurement dashboards, reports and visualisations using Power BI and other analytics tools.

  • Deliver actionable insights to procurement leadership through analysis of spend, savings, supplier performance, compliance, risk and procurement KPIs.
  • Identify trends, patterns and opportunities through advanced analytics and data modelling.
  • Support predictive and prescriptive analytics initiatives where appropriate.
  • Develop data visualisations that translate complex datasets into meaningful business insights.
  • Create standard reporting packs and self-service analytics capabilities for procurement stakeholders.
  • Develop SOPs, user guides and training materials for reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Partner with IT and business stakeholders to improve data accessibility, quality and reporting capabilities.
  • Category Data Management & Sourcing Support (Approximately 50%)
  • Support category managers with data collection, cleansing, validation and analysis for RFQs, RFPs, negotiations and category strategy development.
  • Design and maintain structured category datasets that can be refreshed, updated and reused across sourcing initiatives.
  • Establish consistent data structures for specifications, product attributes, supplier information, pricing and volume data.
  • Apply master data management principles to category data and ensure data consistency across procurement categories.
  • Identify and develop linkages between category datasets to improve cross-category visibility and analytical capabilities.
  • Support the development of common taxonomies, naming conventions and data standards across procurement.
  • Create and maintain sustainable repositories of sourcing and category data that reduce duplication and manual effort.
  • Drive continuous improvement of procurement data quality, governance and accessibility.
  • Support future AI and automation initiatives by ensuring procurement data is structured, reliable and scalable.
  • Digital Transformation & Procurement Enablement
  • Support deployment and adoption of procurement technologies and digital solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve procurement efficiency.
  • Support supplier enablement, data onboarding and system optimisation initiatives.
  • Ensure procurement systems and data processes meet compliance, governance and audit requirements.
  • Work cross-functionally to support strategic procurement projects and business priorities.

  • Procurement Category Managers, Regional Leads and Procurement Leadership Teams.
  • Manufacturing sites and business stakeholders to collect, validate and standardise procurement data.
  • Finance teams to ensure alignment of spend, savings and performance reporting.

  • Cross-functional teams responsible for master data, reporting and business intelligence.

 

External Relationships

 

  • Suppliers to obtain, validate and maintain accurate sourcing and specification data.
  • Procurement technology providers and external data partners.
  • Market intelligence and benchmarking providers where applicable.

 

Key Challenges

 

  • Integrating data from multiple ERP systems, procurement tools and external sources into a consistent analytical framework.
  • Establishing sustainable and scalable category data structures in environments where data quality and standards may vary significantly.
  • Balancing short-term sourcing support requirements with long-term data foundation development.
  • Designing procurement data models that support reporting requirements today while enabling future AI and advanced analytics capabilities.
  • Driving data governance and standardisation across multiple business groups, regions and procurement categories.

 

SPECIFIC SKILLS & ABILITIES

 

  • Advanced Power BI, Power Query and data modelling capabilities.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing events and category management methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, data structures and master data management concepts.
  • Experience designing scalable datasets and data governance frameworks.
  • Ability to structure and normalise data from multiple sources into a unified analytical model.
  • Understanding of AI readiness principles, including data quality, governance, accessibility and interoperability.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate business requirements into practical data solutions.
