About the role
The Corporate Procurement Business Analyst plays a critical role within the Global Indirect Procurement Organization, supporting the HR, Professional Services, and IT categories. This role performs advanced analytics—including cost modeling, market analysis, and RFI/RFP evaluation—to drive fact-based decision-making. The analyst will help identify opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO), improve supplier performance, and support the category strategy.
Key Job Accountabilities
Analytics & Insights
- Build business cases using comprehensive data collection, validation, and fact-based reporting.
- Collect, verify, and maintain complex datasets used for modeling, analysis, and decision frameworks; document and standardize best practices for collection and verification of data, improve accuracy and governance.
- Interpret data and generate actionable insights, and identify opportunities through operational and financial analysis to improve operational and financial performance.
- Support development of cost models, measurement processes, and performance indicators for products and services.
- Maintain and update key reports to ensure accurate and timely spend visibility for internal and external stakeholders.
Corporate Strategy Support:
- Contribute to the optimization of total cost of ownership by applying fact-based analysis, including supplier cost breakdowns, benchmarking, and market pricing research.
- Support execution of category strategies that deliver on Procurement’s business objectives
Pricing / Cost Management
- Drive effective use of sourcing tools, including RFx platforms, e-auctions, and eProcurement systems.
- Identify system gaps, process inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities to enhance Procurement’s capability and long-term value creation.
- Develop and maintain a portfolio of cost saving projects that meet Amcor targets for spend cost reduction.
- Drive standardization (processes, design, requirements, specifications)
- Monitor key KPIs to assess and rate risk regularly.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree: Supply Chain Management or a related field, Business, Finance, Data / Decision Sciences.
- Other desired education: Six Sigma, Should Cost Modeling, Change Management, Project Management
- Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in Indirect Procurement or an analytical busines position.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
- Analytical Skills and Software Applications:
- Demonstrated use of technical software applications. Advanced excel skills and data visualization (i.e., Power BI) appropriate to the specific work activities
- Ability to extract and analyze data from multiple systems (e.g., SAP, Amcor spend and savings tracking tools).
- Strong data validation and cleansing skills, with the ability to resolve inconsistencies and ensure accuracy.
- Experience in building and manipulating datasets to derive insights for decision-making.
- Monitoring, Measurement and Metrics: Knowledge of key business drivers or measures used to gauge the effectiveness and performance of an internal group or a supplier
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills with proven capabilities to manage multiple initiatives in parallel
