Job Purpose

 

The Commercial & Finance Analyst is a key member of the Commercial Excellence Team and responsible for providing strategic business analysis services to different business partners (Sales and Marketing, Corporate, CE Central, GKA and CE Business Unit teams/functions). The focus of this position is to work closely with these partners to gain in-depth understanding of customer's business strategy, processes, and generate and execute initiatives that improve profit margins and enable profitable growth.

 

The Commercial & Finance Analyst key tasks are Value Creation, methodological margin review, commercial contract management, simplification and execution of commercial business processes and leading of Central project analysis.

The key to being successful is the ability to work in a matrix organization by building relationships and understanding and negotiating needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders (GKA, Pricing and Costing, ValuePlus, BU teams etc) with a solid financial background.

 

JOB DIMENSIONS & SCOPE

 

The position reports to the GKAs Commercial and Finance Director with functional links to: GKA Account Directors, BU Commercial Excellence Directors, Senior CE Director, VP Sales & Marketing, VP Commercial Excellence and close relationship with the Pricing and Costing Team and Central CE / Value + Team.

 

Principal Accountabilities

 

Provide Finance and Commercial Support to GKA Sales Director and Sales teams:

  • Actively provide finance and commercial support to business cases, tenders (existing and NBO’s) and value propositions by preparing financial analysis, scenarios, and recommendations to GKA SD’s
  • Support the contract management process with regards to review of commercial terms, usage of standard contract forms, best practices, and monitoring of compliance vs existing agreements.
  • Own continuous tracking, validation, and commercial approval of Salesforce.com GKA actions, monitoring pipeline and support timely execution of actions from a commercial perspective.
  • Create, maintain, and update cost models and raw material GKA trackers and assess impact to Customer profitability.

 

Margin Enhancement and Recovery Management:

  • Identify, plan and drive Value Plus actions that create profitable growth and are aligned with the customer needs.
  • Following the ValuePlus Agenda, actively work on the preparation and follow up of the GKA ValuePlus reviews by suggesting areas of improvement to remove leakers, change mix or contract clauses.
  • Monitor Quarterly GKA PMDB margin review process and propose customers/segments, leakers to be reviewed. Drive action definition and follow-up and establish link with other Value Plus reviews (e.g. BU Reviews) and stakeholders (plants, BUs).
  • Trigger and track actions resulting from developments of key raw materials, transport, energy and currency with Sales & Marketing. Continuously develop commercial approach to management of raw material cost risks and opportunities

 

Support on Global Key Account Analysis and/or specific central Projects:

  • Lead or participate in key EMEA, Global GKAs and/or Cross-BG’s projects by completing and updating project documentation, managing project scope, adjusting schedules when necessary, determining daily priorities, ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones, following proper escalation paths, and managing stakeholders’ relationships. Such projects could cover topics like Global GKAs analysis and reporting, PCR pricing analysis, environmental tax on packaging and RM analysis and recoveries.
  • Provide project level analysis – producing required project analysis documentation (business requirements, scope matrix, sequence diagrams, future state proposals… etc)

 

Miscellaneous

  • Coordinate GKA Account Plans, Budget and Monthly reports for Global Key Accounts
  • Full preparation and involvement on the GKAs perimeter Operating Plan
  • Ad Hoc analysis as requested.

Qualifications/Requirements

 

  1. Formal Qualifications and Experience
    • Minimum 2 to 3years of experience in Sales/Commercial/Controlling
    • University degree in applied economics, business administration, Finance, engineering or a related field
    • Preferably strong knowledge of Packaging business or related industries such as consumer goods or process industries
    • Strong ability and experience to manage in a cross-cultural environment

    • Fluent English and other European language preferred

    • Ability to work successfully in a matrix organization
