Asia is an important growth region for the ASC business and is facing a changing landscape. As a consequence, Asia management is looking for the Finance Manager to be a key player in the Region in accurately assessing the performance of the Region and forecasts, analysing results and identifying savings and opportunities, participating in decision making and identifying areas for improvement.

 

Directly reporting to the Eurasia Finance and Commercial Controller, you will have responsibility for multiple financial analysis responsibilities within ASC Asia as well assisting local finance teams and other functional areas on ad hoc projects on an as needed basis.  More specifically this role will include the following areas:

 

Group Reporting

  • Preparation of monthly reporting to summarise the month’s financial and operating performance to be presented to the Senior Management Team and ASC Zurich Corporate Office (MMR Reporting)
  • Attending to ad hoc requests received from Eurasia regional finance team and the plants as and when required
  • Completion of the half year and year end Statutory Reporting Packages and reporting requirements for ASC Asia in accordance with the Referred Work Instructions from ASC Zurich and Amcor Limited

 

Local Reporting

  • Completion of month end and year end Statutory Reporting Packages for ASC Singapore and other entities.
  • Maintenance of a sound internal control environment – including the establishment and enforcement of Amcor’s Control Self Assessment Framework (‘CSA’)
  • Work with external auditors, tax consultants and other advisors to ensure all regulatory deadlines and reporting requirements are met and full compliance is achieved

 

Budgets

  • Key player in the budget process for ASC Asia by working with the Regional Controller and Finance Director, setting Regional targets and pushing these down to the plants, assisting plants on the completion of their budget reporting packages, validating budget submissions and assessing the overall consolidated budget submission
  • Analysis during the budget process at the Regional level as well assist plant submissions across all key performance metrics, the balance sheet, cash flows and capital expenditure
  • Co-ordinate the annual budget process and analysis for ASC Singapore across all key performance metrics, the balance sheet, cash flows and capital expenditure.

 

Data analysis and assessment

  • Responsible for the ongoing financial analysis and monitoring of key metrics, income statement and balance sheet of the ASC Asia business and the individual plants within the Region against budget, forecast and prior periods
  • Perform detailed variance analysis identifying EBIT leakages and inefficiencies. Work with local management to implement programs to remediate
  • Drive working capital and cash flow improvement initiatives through the periodic analysis for the plants in the Region
  • Closely monitor capital expenditure spend for the Region (budgeted vs non budgeted spend) as recorded in Amcor’s internal reporting systems
  • Ensure Amcor Group policies are adhered to within the day to day operations of the Region
  • Presentation of findings and improvement opportunities to Senior Management
  • Share best practices with key stakeholders so better analysis is performed by each plant
  • Support to finance teams across Asia, but also assist sales and operations on data and trend analysis
  • Participate in plant reviews, profitability analysis of products and customers on a monthly basis

 

Financial Modelling and forecasting

  • Accurate costing and pricing models to support the business in key decision making for various projects on an ad hoc basis including potential acquisitions, cost reduction programs, customer tenders, regional footprint reviews etc
  • Determination of appropriate assumptions to be applied in financial models across various sources
  • Develop presentations to communicate findings and rationalise decisions made
  • Forecast financial performance and data to be used in various reporting formats and understand variances
  • Oversight of the Asia pricing team

 

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Amcor finance and accounting policies
  • Continually improve, challenge and modify existing processes and reporting requirements to fit with the ever changing business environment, operating structure and risk profile of the business within ASC Asia
  • Set up, monitor and control the quarterly certification process for all entities within the Region
  • Track the progress of the CSA process within Asia ensuring that plant reporting deadlines are met and all submissions are completed in full in an appropriate manner

 

Cross Functional support

  • Participate in cross functional business projects and tasks throughout each year ensuring that finance is appropriately represented at all times and business practices are shared.  Includes projects with Group Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit and Corporate Finance

 

Working as part of the Finance team in Asia

  • Be a “key point of contact” for all co-workers within Asia for financial analysis and performance assessment
  • Work closely with the Regional Controller and Eurasia Finance Director, Asia and local plant finance teams to better report financial metrics and drive improved performance
  • Preparation and presentation of financial metrics and performance to key stakeholders
  • Encourage teamwork and open communication within the finance team and with other co-workers in Asia on financial reporting matters
  • Be a central point in ensuring best practice procedures are being shared and adopted

 

It is expected that the Finance manager will work closely with the Financial Controllers within the Region to ensure that thorough analysis of the business results is performed, with key findings shared and further analysis conducted when required. This will require the Finance Manager to travel to the various plants within Asia to work closely with the local teams

 

QUALIFICATIONS :

Knowledge and Experience          

  • 5+ years experience in financial reporting / external or internal audit / internal controls environment
  • Extensive technical accounting knowledge and skills with solid broad business experience
  • Experience in financial analysis, performance assessment and problem solving and presenting findings to others at senior levels
  • Continuously challenge, motivate and improve processes, people and results
  • Be results driven, accountable and a key team player
  • Understanding needs and expectations of internal & external customers

 

Location: Preferred location is in the ASC plants in Pasuruan - Indonesia or Rizal - Philippines ; other locations will be considered if it aligns to Asia timezone

 

Education and Certifications

  • Appropriate Tertiary Qualifications and membership of professional bodies (CA / CPA)
  • Job Specific Technical Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of Financial Reporting (local / international GAAP) and analysis
