JOB SPECIFICATION
Job Title Development Manager.
Reporting to Engineering Manager / Plant Director.
Overall / Job Purpose Responsible for the safe installation of Capital equipment and site improvement projects.
Key accountabilities
- Examine project briefs and their feasibility.
- Specify new equipment and seek out quotations.
- Work with suppliers on equipment design requirements / solutions.
- Advise senior management of costs and timescales to realise a specific project.
- Manage projects from inception thru to handover to production, in terms of safety, cost, time, and quality.
- This position is not solely office based and requires a hands-on approach.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications Timed served engineer, electrically bias – HNC / HND Level,
Ideally with a H+S qualification.
Experience A good working knowledge of Mechatronics, PLC technology, servo drives and control systems.
IT literate, competency in CAD, ideally 2D AutoCAD and the ability to create layout drawings.
Have experience on the safe installation and commissioning of new pieces of equipment.
Strong supplier / contractor management skills.
Experience in leading and supervising a small team.
Personal Qualities Self-motivated with the ability to lead others.
The analytical ability to approach, manage and solve problems of varying levels of complexity.
Be prepared to take a hands-on approach to work.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Ability to travel to suppliers and represent the company where needed.
