Job Purpose

The Technical Manager is responsible for leading the development and continuous improvement of products, components, equipment, systems, technologies, and manufacturing processes within our plastic/process manufacturing unit. The role ensures that technical solutions meet business objectives, comply with internal and external standards, and support the company’s strategic goals in innovation, quality, and operational efficiency. 

 

 

Principal Accountabilities 

  • Lead and manage technical development projects related to new products, processes, and equipment.  

  • Ensure that research and design methodologies meet established scientific and engineering standards.  

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Sales to align technical development with business needs.  

  • Support the formulation of business plans and budgets for product and process development initiatives.  

  • Analyze quality and safety test results to ensure compliance with internal specifications and external regulatory standards.  

  • Monitor product development outcomes to ensure technical, functional, cost, and timing targets are met.  

  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes, and translate insights into actionable innovations.  

  • Organize and deliver technical presentations to customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.  

  • May be responsible for managing the product regulatory approval process in collaboration with relevant authorities and internal compliance teams.  

 

Formal Qualifications and Experience:

Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Chemical, Process, or Industrial Engineering) or equivalent. 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical leadership roles within manufacturing or process industries. 

  • Proven experience in product and process development, including project management and cross-functional collaboration. 

  • Strong understanding of engineering standards, product lifecycle management, and regulatory requirements. 

  • Experience in an international business environment is an advantage. 

  • Fluent in Swedish and English (spoken and written).

  • Innovation & Technical Expertise: Strong ability to drive technical innovation and apply engineering principles to solve complex challenges. 

  • Project Management: Skilled in planning, executing, and delivering development projects on time and within budget. 

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to align technical initiatives with business strategy and customer needs. 

  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in data analysis, testing methodologies, and performance evaluation. 

  • Communication & Presentation: Excellent ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences, including customers and stakeholders. 

  • Leadership & Collaboration: Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. 

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of product compliance and certification processes relevant to the plastic/process industry.
