Job Purpose

In this role, you will lead the Quality function for a high‑volume manufacturing site specializing in injection molding of PP materials, operating 24/7 with approximately 220 employees. You will be responsible for securing product quality, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance in a highly demanding environment. 
This position is part of a global organization and operates within a matrix structure, reporting both to the Site Manager and relevant Global/Regional Quality leadership. You will lead a local quality team and work cross‑functionally with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and EHS.

 

Principal Accountabilities 

As part of the Quality team you’ll be responsible for: 

  • Leading the site’s Quality function, including quality systems, audits, laboratory operations, and customer quality management. 

  • Ensuring compliance with food‑contact packaging requirements (e.g., BRCGS Packaging, GMP, ISO standards, local legal requirements). 

  • Driving continuous improvement in quality performance, scrap reduction, and process stability across all injection‑molding operations. 

  • Leading internal and external audits, including customer audits and certification audits. 

  • Managing customer complaints, implementing root cause analysis, and ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). 

  • Overseeing change control, deviation management, and product release processes. 

  • Monitoring and analyzing quality KPIs and reporting performance within the matrix organization. 

  • Coaching and developing the quality team and fostering a strong quality culture across the entire site. 

  • Collaborating with global and regional quality functions to implement standards, harmonize processes, and support group‑wide initiatives. 

  • Ensuring that all quality‑related training, documentation, and regulatory requirements are up to date and effectively implemented. 

 

Qualifications/Requirements

 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related technical field. 

Skills / Experience 

  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Management within manufacturing, preferably food‑contact packaging or injection molding / plastics processing (PP preferred). 

  • Strong knowledge of quality systems and standards (e.g., BRCGS Packaging, ISO 9001, HACCP, GMP). 

  • Proven experience leading audits and managing customer relationships. 

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze process data, drive root cause analysis, and lead structured problem‑solving (e.g., 8D, PDCA, Six Sigma). 

  • Experience working in a matrix organization and collaborating across functions and regions. 

  • Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence across departments. 

  • Proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement. 

  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, 24/7 production environment. 

Additional Requirements 

  • Occasional travel may be required within the group (regional or global). 

  • Ability to work on‑site full‑time in a manufacturing environment.
