Job Title: Mold maker Designer - Beverage

Reports To: Design office Manager

Contract Length: Permanent

Job Summary:

We are hiring a skilled and detail-oriented Moldmaker Designer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing molds for manufacturing processes, such as plastic injection molding for Packaging with a dominant for Closures. Main scope in Beverage.

You will collaborate with engineers, machinists, and production teams to develop high-precision tooling that meets customer specifications, industry standards, and cost efficiency requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design 3D and 2D mold components and assemblies using CAD software (SolidWorks).
  • Create and revise mold designs based on product requirements, manufacturability, and mold flow analysis.
  • Collaborate with product development, engineering, and toolroom teams to ensure design feasibility and functionality.
  • Ensure designs meet performance, safety, and durability standards, and comply with tolerances and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing requirements.
  • Specify materials, cooling systems, ejection systems, parting lines, gating systems, and other mold features.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and documentation for manufacturing and maintenance.
  • Review and troubleshoot mold design issues, both during design and post-production stages.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, materials, and new technologies related to moldmaking.
  • Support quoting process by providing design input and estimated tooling requirements.
  • Maintain organized records of mold designs, revisions, and changes.

 

Requirements:

Education:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Tool Design, or a related field.
  • Mold Design Certification or Tool & Die background is a strong plus.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in mold design (injection molds, Packaging, Pharma or Beverage oriented).
  • Hands-on mold making experience is a plus.

Skills:

  • Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks).
  • Strong understanding of mold construction, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiar with mold flow simulation tools (e.g., Moldflow, Moldex3D) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of machining, EDM, and CNC manufacturing processes.
  • Good problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

 

Preferred Qualities:

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Capable of managing multiple design projects under tight deadlines.

 

Work Environment:

Primarily office-based with occasional visits to the shop floor or customer sites.
