Job Purpose
Provide industry-level analytical support and evaluate macro-market & consumer insights to identify actionable strategic opportunities on “where to play” to key stakeholders, across multiple markets and product lines.
Job Dimensions
- Contribute to RSPIs’ strategic plan process
- Support the development of market intelligence capabilities
- Establish best practice, create templates and harmonize reporting across markets and product lines
Key Accountabilities
Generation of market insights
- Consolidate macro-level market intelligence (collecting, structuring and analysing data) to build actionable market & customer insights, working with Product Management, Business Excellence, Sales and R&D.
- Monitor market, consumers and competition trends to highlight “where to play” opportunities for Amcor applications
- Lead ad-hoc research projects with external agencies on strategic topics: eCommerce, sustainability e.g.
- Design tailored consumer surveys, analyzing data and turning insights into story-telling presentations
- Support Product Management and Sales teams for category reviews and strategic plans
- Use insights to build consensus among cross-functional teams and support decision making. Prepare and present findings to all relevant parties in a structured way
- Present market insights internally and externally (e.g. sales meetings, marketing sharing sessions, customer calls)
- Co-ordinate harmonized implementation of best practice MI approaches throughout different PM market/product teams
Structuring, collection and management of internal and external markets and competitor data
- Definition of data structure and outputs, tool(s) design/requirements
- Develop roadmap for tool(s) implementation and data build-up
- Qualitative review of internal data in collaboration with Business Excellence team
- Management of external data collection
- Qualitative data review and validation
- Implementation of ongoing processes for regular maintenance
- Identify trends, highlight opportunities and share findings with key stakeholders
Management of external data sources
- Identification and validation of data sources
- Central overview and prioritization of available data sources
- Management of relationships with central data providers, coordination of internal parties
Communications
- Ongoing communication of market trends and competitor news to all relevant stakeholders
- Presentations during sales meetings, marketing sessions, customer calls
Qualifications/Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in a market intelligence function
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills, attention to details
- Communication and presentation skills across wide range of audiences
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize recommendations from vast and not always aligned data sets
- Strong project management and ability to drive execution of plans in a highly complex matrix environment
- Comfortable with multi-cultural team, operating effectively with people at all levels and across all functions of the organization, building and maintaining relationship
- Fluent English. Additional European languages (e.g. French, German, Spanish) are a plus
- Experience in an agency is a plus
- Packaging experience is useful but not a prerequisite
