PURPOSE: This position reports to the Additive Manufacturing Director and will oversee day-to-day AM technologies and operations to support AM strategies that will drive cost savings and revenue growth across all product lines and plant sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support strategies for MRO cost savings & digital mass manufacturing.
  • Support achievement of company-wide financial goals through revenue growth and cost savings.
  • Support Industrial Design, Product Development, R&D, Product Line Management, and Sales teams with rapid prototyping deliverables that drive growth of internal and external opportunities.
  • Lead, manage, and develop Additive Manufacturing technicians.
  • Lead 3D Print on-boarding and initiative management of global plant sites including equipment deployment, set-up, training, cadence calls, and consumable recommendations.
  • Work collaboratively with the AM team, Equipment Support & Services, Corporate Engineering, Ops Excellence teams to increase production efficiencies and optimize safety opportunities. This will include travel to plant sites, domestic and international.
  • Always maintain AM operations in a clean & safe condition. Recommend and execute new preventative safety procedures.
  • Train department personnel on existing and new additive manufacturing equipment.

  • Ensure AM equipment preventative maintenance (PM) is consistently and effectively completed as indicated by the PM schedule.
  • Attend AM & adjacent industry trade shows and conferences regularly to stay abreast of current and future technologies and materials that can be utilized to advance our competitive advantage.
  • 3D CAD solid and surface modeling.
  • Generate optimized STL files with proficient knowledge and use various slicing programs to prepare files for a multitude of additive manufacturing equipment.
  • Report projects and progress to the Additive Manufacturing Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • AS/BS degree in an AM Technology, Product Design, or Engineering related field or equivalent Additive Manufacturing experience.
  • 12+ years experience directly in or adjacent to the AM industry creating digitally printed packaging, components, and systems.
  • Experience in motivating and managing a team.
  • Advanced knowledge of a multitude of AM technologies including but not limited to SLA, MSLA, DLP, SLS, FFF, and DMLS technologies & materials that drive plastic and metal output of physical deliverables.
  • Proven technical background with ability to solve problems.
  • Advanced understanding of conventional package manufacturing processes and downstream equipment.
  • Proficient ability with 3D computer modeling, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Mold design and machining experience a plus.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Must be able to stand for 8+ hour periods.
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs, regularly.
