Technical Graduate Program

 

Each year we are looking for around 10 Graduates to join our Graduate Program in various functions: R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales & Marketing, HR, Finance, PMO and more. The next program will start in October 2025.

This Technical Graduate Program contract will be based in Logrono, Spain.

As an AFEMEA Graduate you will gain insight into the assigned function from different perspectives – by supporting plant-based daily activities in the technical area as well as being involved in other cross functional projects, together with your Mentor. Our Graduate Program is designed for creative and motivated thinkers who love learning and taking on new challenges and responsibilities, not afraid of dealing with ambiguity and change.

 

We are looking a Technical Specialist for the development of films for the flexible packaging industry, managing technical projects for both internal and external customers. Key areas of focus include recipe management, process validation, and technical support to ensure product performance, efficiency, and compliance with quality and safety standards. 

Technical Specialist Graduate Program is the unique opportunity to work alongside Business Unit Technical experts  and Plant Managers within our Film & Foil business to gain the insights into:

 

  1. Product Development & Recipe Management: Develop and optimize extrusion film recipes, Manage and update the recipe database, Validate machine performance for extrusion lines, Standardize product specifications and formulations, Ensure backup materials for production continuity.
  2. Technical Support & Customer Collaboration: Support Quality, Sales, and Customer Service with technical expertise, Work with Product Development Managers on cross-site projects, Assist customers and the Extrusion Sales Team with troubleshooting, Conduct customer visits when needed.
  3. Process & Quality Optimization: Assist Quality and Operations in problem-solving, Promote best practices across extrusion sites, Report and address quality risks.
  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align with Operations, Quality, and Commercial teams, Share knowledge with Technical and Quality Managers across plants, Engage in training and process improvement initiatives.

 

The program is designed to equip you with necessary skills and competencies, via differentiated projects, tasks and learnings, to become a successful technical specialist within packaging business.

 

What do you need?

It’s a good start to have the following:

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry (with a focus on polymers, chemistry, packaging or related)
  • Desirable up to 2 years of working experience (might be gained via internships) in industrial environment, within technical, R&D, quality or related functions
  • Fluency in Spanish & English
  • Easiness with systems and Microsoft tools (Excel, Power BI, Power Point)
  • Ability to learn on the fly
  • Willingness to travel and work across Europe
  • First international experience gained via studies, exchange programs or internships as an asset
  • Flexibility & adaptability
  • Proactiveness and outperformance mindset
  • Collaboration skills
  • Strong stakeholder management & network building capabilities
  • Permanent work permit in EU
