Operations Manager
The Operations Manager is a key member of the plant management team at AF Kreuzlingen and is responsible for the production and maintenance areas (approx. 185 employees). The role has close interfaces with EHS, Quality & CI, Supply Chain, Technical Management, Finance, and HR. The main focus is on the continuous improvement of production processes in terms of safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction to ensure complete, on-time, and specification-compliant delivery (DIFOTIS).
Your Responsibilities:

Overall responsibility for operational control of production and maintenance, especially managing personnel and machine capacities in close collaboration with the Supply Chain

Ensuring timely, cost-optimized, and quality-compliant production

Planning and optimization of production processes and capacities

Leading and developing employees in accordance with Amcor’s values and leadership principles

Empowering employees to reach their full potential, including goal setting, performance reviews, recognition, coaching, training, and development

Responsibility for compliance with occupational safety and environmental standards

Responsibility for the budgeting process and achievement of financial targets

Analyzing KPIs and deriving measures to increase efficiency

Initiating and implementing lean management and continuous improvement (CI) measures

Maintaining assets and preparing investment projects to support new technologies, respond to market needs, and enhance cost competitiveness
Your Profile:
-
Degree in industrial engineering, production engineering, mechanical engineering, or a comparable qualification

Minimum of 5 years of industrial experience in progressive roles and a strong business acumen

Thorough understanding of cost and profitability drivers, with a proven track record in identifying and managing KPIs in leadership roles

Solid knowledge in key areas of flexible packaging production and technology (lamination, printing, coating)

Experience with continuous improvement tools and processes, lean manufacturing, and a record of practical implementation

Experience in team leadership, change management, and transformation projects

Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken

Strong ability to lead change at all levels of the organization
