JOB OVERVIEW
Supervise analytical laboratory, application laboratory and customer experience centre. Ensure each laboratory functions on right track.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead analytical lab, application lab and customer experience center team
- Ensure process set up on analytical lab for material research development. The process contains but not limited to equipment setups, maintenance, test service and cost review etc.
- Supervise on process set up on application lab for packaging product development and transportation test. The process contains but not limited to equipment setups, maintenance, test service and cost review etc.
- Support full labs safety compliance (training, processes, etc.).
- Motivated to communicate with global innovation center on technical or sustainable information exchange.
- Ensure each lab technician work in a right manner, following SOPs and have a trackable record in documentation.
- Supervise on the creation of all prototype/sample production in the prototyping lab, part of customer experience center, including consideration of safety, scheduling and tool utilization and maintenance that align to meeting production demands.
- Facilitate communications with Sales, Product Development, Marketing, and Customers to ensure comprehensive order communications and creation.
- Support communications to meet all needs and expectations of test service to include timing, product offerings, quality, and potentially pricing.
- Coordinate and lead Customer Innovation sessions to include ideation, selecting/prioritizing ideas, managing resources to complete rough and final samples
- Support ensuring labs maintains and improves its equipment to keep on the leading edge of sample making, testing or creation. Proactively identify and lead business case development for upgrades.
- Maintain ISO 17025/ CNAS lab quality system.
- Lead continuous improvement projects and initiatives related to infrastructure and capabilities as well as internal or external process to continuously improve.
- Quarterly review on the quality of testing reports, customer service, prototyping service, and setting goals for continuous improvement based on internal and external customer’s opinion.
- Interact with Amcor personnel and customers to ensure robust information gathering to enable the effective meetings. This includes pre, mid and post project sessions to ensure ideas are progressing and any gaps are identified and closed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Packaging Engineering. Master's Degree or higher in same disciplines is highly desired.
- 3+ years in Flexible industry with R&D or Technical Service background.
- 2+ years of Customer Facing experience.
- Fluent in English and Conversational in Chinese.
- Established knowledge on analytical equipment like Infrared Spectroscopy, Gas Chromatography, Differential Scanning Calorimetry, etc.
- Established knowledge on flexible packaging application, e.g. film processing, material property, packaging structure design rule etc.
- Outstanding customer service and communications skills, both oral and written, to successfully interact with customers, vendors, and Amcor personnel.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills to handle a large volume workflow and determine and/or respond to appropriate priorities.
- Ability to work in multi-task, multi-priority, high volume, and high velocity environment, with limited supervision and direction.
- Must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a positive attitude.
