JOB PURPOSE 

 For over 125 years, Amcor Horsens has been producing high-quality flexible packaging for the healthcare coffee and dairy industry. As one of the group’s most stable and profitable sites, we’re proud of our strong safety culture — and we’re ready to take it to the next level. 
 

As our new Safety Manager, you’ll lead and strengthen the plant’s environmental, health, and safety programs — ensuring full compliance with local, regional, and national regulations, as well as Amcor’s internal standards and policies. You’ll play a key role in aligning site-level practices with group-wide EHS systems, driving consistency and excellence across all operations. 
 

You’ll work closely with plant leadership, operators, and external partners to foster a proactive safety culture focused on prevention, engagement, and continuous improvement — with the ultimate goal of achieving a safe workplace and making Horsens a true benchmark for safety and operational excellence. 

 

 PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES   

Safety & Health Management 

  • Lead and improve site-wide safety programs, ensuring full compliance with all EHS standards and procedures, 

  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations to drive preventive action and a safe environment culture, 

  • Train, coach, and engage employees to foster proactive safety ownership at every level. 

EHS Compliance & Culture 

  • Oversee all environmental and safety compliance, including waste management, permits, and reporting, 

  • Act as the main contact for authorities and regulatory inspections, 

  • Lead by example to strengthen a proactive, visible, and collaborative safety culture across the plant. 

Leadership & Influence 

  • Manage a small EHS team (2 direct reports), guiding development, performance, and engagement, 

  • Lead the Factory Safety Steering Committee, influencing standards and promoting cross-department collaboration, 

  • Act as a role model and trusted advisor, building strong relationships with leaders, operators, and external partners.
     

 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

What you will bring - Mandatory 

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, or related field, 

  • 5+ years of EHS experience, 

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment,

  • Solid knowledge of Danish regulatory requirements and experience collaborating with relevant authorities (e.g., Danish Working Environment Authority, Environmental Protection Agency), 

  • Fluent in Danish and English. 

 

What you will bring - Nice to have 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), 

  • Professional certification (e.g., relevant Danish health, safety, or environmental qualifications, or equivalent international certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM).
