Strategic Marketing Manager – Healthcare

Healthcare Business Unit | Amcor Flexibles EMEA

Contract: Permanent
Function: Marketing & Product Management
Reports to: Senior Manager, Marketing & Product Management
Legal Entity: Amcor Group GmbH (contract issued in line with local legal requirements)

About the Role

The Strategic Marketing Manager – Healthcare plays a pivotal role in shaping the long‑term direction of Amcor’s Healthcare business across both the Medical and Pharmaceutical segments in EMEA.

This is a highly analytical, insight‑driven role designed for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working with imperfect data, and translating market intelligence into clear strategic direction. You will act as a strategic thought partner to Sales, Product Management, and the Leadership Team, enabling informed commercial and portfolio decisions.

While this role is firmly strategic, it also requires a hands‑on mindset within a small, high‑impact marketing team, working closely with MarComms & Events on execution when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Market Intelligence & Business Insight

  • Lead comprehensive market assessments across Medical and Pharma segments, including market size, growth dynamics, competitive intensity, and emerging trends.
  • Develop deep understanding of customer needs, unmet demands, and future expectations.
  • Monitor competitors’ strategies, offerings, and market moves in collaboration with Sales and technical teams.
  • Deliver regular, high‑quality market and competitive insight updates to key stakeholders.
  • Translate analysis into clear recommendations and strategic actions.

Segmentation & Strategic Planning

  • Define and refine segment strategies, identifying high‑potential customer, application, and product opportunities.
  • Build hypothesis‑driven strategic scenarios and business cases to support long‑term planning.
  • Support prioritisation and resource allocation decisions through data‑led segmentation.

Portfolio & Value Proposition Strategy

  • Support Product Management with portfolio performance insights and identification of gaps or future growth drivers.
  • Contribute to the development of segment‑specific value propositions and messaging frameworks.
  • Recommend portfolio evolution and innovation opportunities aligned with market needs and competitive dynamics.

Cross‑Functional Partnership

  • Act as a strategic and analytical partner to Sales, Product Management, and the Healthcare Leadership Team.
  • Support tactical execution when required (e.g. campaign analysis, storyline development, executive presentations).
  • Collaborate across cultures, geographies, and functions within a highly matrixed organisation.

Strategic Storytelling & Communication

  • Build concise, compelling PowerPoint presentations for senior leadership.
  • Turn complex data and analysis into clear narratives, insights, and decisions.
  • Influence alignment and decision‑making through structured, fact‑based storytelling.

Scope & Impact

  • Strategic responsibility across Medical and Pharma healthcare segments.
  • Individual contributor role within a small, agile marketing team.
  • Influence on portfolio direction, customer value propositions, and long‑term growth strategy.
  • EMEA scope, supporting flexible packaging solutions across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Key Challenges

  • Converting complex, fragmented data into actionable strategic insight.
  • Navigating diverse regulatory, competitive, and commercial environments across healthcare segments.
  • Balancing long‑term strategic thinking with near‑term business priorities.
  • Managing multiple stakeholders and initiatives in a dynamic, matrix environment.

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Marketing, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in top‑tier consulting or a highly analytical strategy role (required).
  • Experience in healthcare packaging and/or healthcare end markets is a strong advantage.
  • Fluent English; additional European languages (German, French, Spanish) are highly valued.

Skills & Capabilities

  • Strong analytical, hypothesis‑driven problem solver.
  • Advanced Excel modelling skills (market sizing, forecasting, business cases).
  • Excellent PowerPoint skills with the ability to craft executive‑level narratives.
  • Confident working with ambiguity and limited data.
  • Strong communicator who can synthesize insights and “connect the dots.”
  • Comfortable working independently while thriving in collaborative environments.
  • Curious, proactive, adaptable, and energized by complexity.

Mindset & Behaviours

  • High ownership and self‑starting attitude.
  • Able to move seamlessly between strategic thinking and hands‑on execution.
  • Team‑oriented, supportive, and flexible in a small team setting.
  • Resilient and focused in a fast‑changing business context.

Leadership Expectations (Amcor Leadership Framework)

The successful candidate demonstrates:

  • Strategic Mindset – Sees future possibilities and translates them into actionable strategies.
  • Customer Focus – Builds strong internal and external relationships to deliver value.
  • Drive for Results – Sets priorities and delivers outcomes despite ambiguity.
  • Innovation & Learning – Continuously improves, seeks new ideas, and embraces feedback.
  • Collaboration & Engagement – Works inclusively across teams, cultures, and geographies.
