1. Job Overview
Briefly summarise the job’s primary purpose (why the job exists).The EHS Officer must support business priorities through the development and provision of effective and pragmatic solutions to EHS Management issues. The EHS Officer should provide Support to the site and EHS Manager for maintaining and improving safety on site, including coaching and mentoring management and supervisors in EHS skills and techniques along with project management of key EHS initiatives and projects.

•    No co-workers reporting to this role
•    Approx. 200 employees on site 
•    Interfacing/exchanging with all co-workers across the site.Other Information: e.g. No. of customers & clients serviced, training courses conducted, units repaired, maintained, etc.
 
3. Principal Accountabilities
What are the key accountabilities and tasks for this role?
•    Drive the development and implementation of EHS training and development – focussing on continuously improving the knowledge and know-how of all co-workers: Implementation of the “Take Action, Take Care” philosophy.
•    Manage and continuously improve the effectiveness of all the EHS committee forums on site.
•    Support EHS Manager in reviewing all investments and machinery with the support of Project, Maintenance and Operations Managers.•    Establish and build strong relationships with production floor, Safety and Union Representatives across the business to ensure a proactive Safety Culture within the business.
•    Maintain and improve Amcor Standards to comply with Amcor Key Priorities.
•    Support the EHS Manager in the management and implementation of the Regulatory and Amcor systems and processes including the reporting framework; internal audit and external audit programme; supporting Customer audit processes.
•    Support the EHS Manager in the implementation of the EHS systems and processes into the site Integrated Management System; management and control of system to ensure compliance and updated.
•    Support the EHS Manager in the management and development of effective EHS awareness and development programmes on site including developing, delivering and maintaining relevant programmes from induction through the Senior Management development.
•    Support the EHS Manager in developing and managing the implementation of an effective behavioural safety system.
•    Support the EHS Manager in the management, delivery and reporting of site safety KPI’s.
•    Support the EHS Manager in the leadership of site and key projects to ensure full compliance with change management programmes.
•    Support the EHS Manager in reviewing, developing and implementing effective and efficient EHS administration processes.
•    Support the EHS Manager in consulting and supporting all departments regarding Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental provisions.
•    Support the EHS Manager in the delivery of the Strategic Safety Plan.
4. Major challenges & complexities

•    Ensuring standards and processes are in place which are critical to EHS
•    Building working relationships with co-workers across all functions across the site.
•    Completing Monthly KPI, Environmental & CCA Reporting

All AF Cumbria personnel    Audit teams, including customer audits.
6. Qualifications/Requirements
6.1 Formal Qualifications and Experience
•    NEBOSH Occupational Health & Safety Diploma. (Optional)
•    NEBOSH Environmental Certificate. (Optional)
•    In depth and broad practical experience of Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental
•    Good IT Skills.
