Line Manager’s Job Title: Plant General Manager (PGM)

 

Job Purpose

  • To show leadership for compliance with all Quality, Health, Safety and Environment requirements.
  • Coordinate programmes for measurement and continuous improvement of quality.
  • Assure competence and capability of employees within the quality function.
  • Support and give guidance to production co-workers on Quality related issues.
  • Establish quality systems and standards, which enable achievement of regulatory compliance and good manufacturing practices and anticipate the changing needs of customers, regulatory bodies and the business.
  • Manage quality and technical relationship with suppliers and customers.
  • Support Product Safety team with technical activities as required.
  • Provide Technical guidance related to Inks / Cylinders / Repeat tolerances.
  • Guide quality activities to ensure the integrity of products through all stages of manufacture and release.
  • Support & Coordinate technical & R&D activities as required.
  • Oversee compliance to SOP’s in all areas.
  • Host customer & Regulatory audits as required.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

  • Active member of site Leadership Team, attend meetings as the figurehead for the Quality department.
  • Actively support all EHS activities as required.
  • Conduct Behavioural audits and risk assessments as required.
  • Demonstrates meaningful involvement by integrating EHS into daily work routines.
  • Ensures compliance with best practice, legislative requirements, and all company’s initiatives in relation to Health and Safety.

 

  • Administer quality systems, which adapt to the changing needs of the business, regulatory requirements and international standards in line with strategy of Amcor and site Management Team
  • Develop Direct reports understanding of quality & technical requirements through targeted training activities
  • Communication of specific quality & technical requirements to all parts of business as applicable
  • Oversee and participate as required in customer complaints process
  • Oversee and participate as required in customer audits
  • Perform and follow-up supplier audits on behalf of site and Amcor group purchasing function
  • Oversee quality standards both for the business and for any third party manufacturers
  • Ensure awareness and participation in specific activities related to GMP
  • Analyse complaint, reject and audit data to recommend specific improvement activities
  • Participate in BU Quality calls as lead representative for the site.
  • Delivery of Quality data monthly report.

 

 

 

Qualifications/Requirements  

 

  1. Formal Qualifications and Experience
  • Team building skills;
  • Effective communication skills;
  • Positive attitude & collaborative style of working

 

  1.  Specific Skills and Abilities:
  • >5 Years experience in a Quality related Supervisory / Management role.
  • Quality related Experience gained in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Recognised Quality related Qualifications.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to network effectively across the wider business unit.
  • Experience of flexible packaging industry (Preferrable)
