Finance Executive (Asia)

ASC Singapore is only head office in the region plus a dormant entity in Malaysia. Asia is an important region for the ASC business and as a consequence, ASC management is looking for the Finance Executive to be a strong leader to support the ASC Singapore business both from a financial management and reporting perspective, but also as a key member of the ASC Eurasia team who is involved in regional tasks.
Directly reporting to the ASC Regional Finance Manager Asia, you will have responsibility for the financial management of the ASC Singapore HQ and ASC Subang, being part decision making, performance analysis and standard setting for reporting. More specifically this will include the following areas:
• The timely and accurate reporting of financial information to the Regional Finance Manager Asia, ASC Eurasia team / fellow co-workers and ASC Group Head Office in Zurich, Singapore HR Director
• Regular communication and reporting to ensure appropriate and informed decision making
• Driving financial performance and continuous improvement within the ASC Singapore
• Detailed understanding and use of the financial reporting systems within ASC
• Maintenance of a sound internal control environment – including the establishment and enforcement of Amcor’s Control Self Assessment Framework (‘CSA’)
• Support to ASC Group compliance projects and testing processes
• Assistance in budgeting process for ASC Singapore and Subang and updated forecasting on an ongoing basis
• Assistance in all financial regulatory reporting and filings within required deadlines
• Be one of key contact for the Compliance Manager ASC Asia, Amcor Group Internal Audit and external audit and other advisors
• Continued improvement, challenge and modification of existing processes to fit with the ever changing business environment, risk profile of the business within ASC Singapore and ASC Subang
It is expected that the Financial Executive will work closely with the other Financial Manager within the Region to ensure that best practices are shared and communication channels remain strong.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting
• Responsible for the financial and management reporting systems and reporting within ASC Singapore and ASC Subang
• Key team member responsible for the monthly management reporting process for the Singapore HQ and Subang dormant entity, completing monthly reporting requirements accurately and within set deadlines in accordance with Group instruction
• Ensure Amcor Group policies are adhered to within the day to day operations of the plant
• Monitor the performance of ASC Singapore and ASC Subang and control performance, including profit (VCI), cash flow and working capital changes
• Use budget and forecast data to analyse actual performance, communicating variances and remedies to key stakeholders
• Be the financial gatekeeper for HR Director
Accounting
• Perform accurate and timely payments to suppliers; verify supplier balances and review accruals recorded by ASC Singapore and ASC Subang.
• Maintain complete and up-to-date supplier documentation in the online drive (e.g., contracts, invoices, payment slips).
• Assist with the preparation and submission of documentation to SCB Bank when changes are to be implemented.
Budgeting and forecasting
• Assist with annual budget process and analysis for ASC Singapore across all key performance metrics, the balance sheet, cash flows and capital expenditure
• Monitor actual against budget performance during the year, analysing variances
• Update manager with ongoing forecasts of key metrics throughout the year
Internal Control Environment
• Maintain and continuously improve the existing internal control environment within ASC Singapore, to enhance efficiencies and accessibility to more reliable information
• Review processes and ensure the most effective control points are being applied
• Integrate and maintain the Control Self Assessment framework into ASC Singapore
• Work closely with the Regional Finance Manager and Group Internal Audit to ensure best practice is being undertaken and that any areas identified for improvement are quickly and appropriately remediated
Governance
• Work with external auditors, tax consultants and other advisors to ensure all regulatory deadlines and reporting requirements are met and full compliance is achieved
Year End / Statutory
• Ensure consistency and completeness of the Amcor Balance File checklist requirements at each reporting date
• Assist with Statutory Reporting Packages and reporting requirements for ASC Head Office in accordance with the Referred Work Instructions
• Provide support in completion and ensure compliance of local statutory filings in accordance with regulatory deadlines
Other projects
• Control foreign exchange risk by working with Group Treasury and hedging fluctuations and exposures
• Business co-ordination and the sharing of best practice across all functions in the Region
• Other ad hoc projects as required by the Regional Finance Manager Asia or Regional Finance Controller Asia
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge and Experience
• 3+ years experience in financial reporting / external or internal audit / internal controls environment
• Extensive technical knowledge and skills in the above fields combined with solid broad business skills and experience
• Continuously challenge, motivate and improve processes, people and results

• Experience in advising, problem analysis, developing recommendations and presenting these at senior levels
• Understanding needs and expectations of internal & external customers
Education and Certifications
