About the role

The BD Specialist will support new business development and new account acquisition in the flexible packaging market. This role follows up on leads generated by marketing and commercial teams, identifies potential prospects, engages relevant decision makers, and coordinates business meetings to understand customer needs. With knowledge of flexible packaging products, applications, and market practices, the role helps promote Amcor’s solutions, prepare market and customer information, and convert qualified opportunities into revenue growth.

 

 

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Support the execution of business development plans to drive engagement and win new business in targeted flexible packaging segments.
  • Assist in preparing business plans, including basic financial analysis, competitive information, and value proposition materials.
  • Contribute to revenue growth by supporting prospecting, qualification, and development of new accounts.
  • Identify and follow up new business opportunities aligned with Amcor’s flexible packaging portfolio.
  • Conduct market research and translate findings into actionable business concepts and plans for review and discussion.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on lead generation, market sizing, market trends, market dynamics, and competitive analysis.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, prospects, key industry influencers, co-packers, machine suppliers, OEMs, and industry associations.
  • Support commercial discussions and negotiations under guidance, including identifying key contacts and cold calling prospective customers when needed.
  • Work with cross-functional teams including technology, product management, commercial, customer service, pricing, marketing, R&D, graphics, demand planning, talent recruiting, and sales to support commercialization and onboarding.
  • Partner with Account Managers to ensure smooth handover of newly developed customer accounts into stable account management.

 

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above.
  • Around 3 years of work experience in the flexible packaging industry, preferably in business development, sales, marketing, key account support, or related commercial roles.
  • Basic knowledge of the B2B commercial process, with proven ability to support customer development activities, opportunity tracking, and preparation of business development materials.
  • Familiarity with flexible packaging products, applications, basic manufacturing processes, customer requirements, industry trends, and the competitive landscape.
  • Good communication, coordination, and influencing skills, with willingness to learn and develop negotiation capability.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external customers to support new business development execution and customer onboarding.
