About the role

The Modern Workplace IT Specialist, Mobility is responsible for the global support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of both shopfloor and administrative IT mobility endpoints, ensuring reliable and efficient services for the business. The role provides technical solutions, project ownership, and day-to-day operational support while coordinating and implementing approved mobility solutions across Business Groups in a timely and cost-effective manner. Working closely with IT and Procurement teams at both global and local levels, the specialist promotes standardized technologies, drives cost optimization initiatives, and supports the adoption of appropriate solutions to meet business needs. The position is also responsible for developing, maintaining, and enforcing mobility standards across the organization, preparing business cases and presentations to support these standards, and leveraging new functionality within existing systems to enhance reliability, user experience, and business capabilities. Additionally, the role contributes to ongoing service improvements and undertakes other reasonable responsibilities as required.

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Provides day-today support for the Amcor Mobility Infrastructure environment. This includes managing incidents, changes, monitoring to provide pro-active resolution of issues and performing maintenance activities following ITIL principles.   
  • Responsible for all activities relating to problem reporting and change control for assigned projects. 
  • Work with the IT Security Team to coordinate IT endpoint equipment security measures to protect corporate data. 
  • Interact with global peers within the Client Infrastructure technologies and across other departments, to solve the more challenging escalated problems. 
  • Work closely with the IT Operations Team to develop procedures, standards and processes for the monitoring and support of Amcor’s infrastructure. 
  • Document standard operating procedures, diagrams, and training materials for use by the team. 
  • Demonstrate skills to facilitate and coordinate internal team projects.

Qualifications/Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience/studies 
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a technical IT Environment 
  • On-call based on a rotating 7x24 schedule (as applicable by country) 
  • ITIL certificate will be advantageous 
  • Knowledge of workstation and server infrastructure solutions (software distribution techniques, workstation applications, Anti-Virus solutions, Virtual Environments) 
  • Willingness to learn and be adaptable to the changing requirements of the job 
  • Solid experience within an environment running Wintel, Microsoft and shopfloor management solutions. 
  • Technical background in automating tasks, programming or scripting would be beneficial but is not essential. 
  • Demonstrate research skills & the ability to self-direct training to keep current with technology advancements. 
  • Fluent in English (company working language).
