Site Groundskeeper

Purpose of the Role
Maintain and improve grounds, outdoor facilities, and landscaped areas to ensure they are safe, tidy, and presentable for staff, visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Grounds Maintenance — mowing, strimming, hedge cutting, leaf clearing, edging, and general upkeep of lawns and landscaped areas. Upkeep of ponds & sluice
- Horticultural Work — planting, pruning, weeding, watering, mulching, and seasonal bedding displays.
- Good Understanding of Site Safety & Cleanliness — litter picking, clearing debris, gritting/snow clearance in winter, and reporting hazards.
- Equipment Use & Care — operating mowers, strimmer’s, tractors, blowers, and other machinery; carrying out basic maintenance and safety checks.
- Grounds Repairs — minor fencing repairs, path maintenance, drainage checks, and general outdoor repairs.
- Waste Management — composting, green waste handling, and safe disposal of other waste materials.
- Support Site Team / Departments — setting up outdoor areas for events, moving equipment, and assisting other site team members when required.
- Cover Site Waste Role for holidays and sickness.
Skills & Competencies
- Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or horticulture.
- Ability to operate grounds machinery safely.
- Understanding of health & safety practices (COSHH, PPE, risk assessments).
- Basic knowledge of turf care and plant maintenance.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Essential Skills & Qualifications.
- Level 2 in Horticulturist, or similar.
- Tractor or ride‑on mower training.
- First Aid certification.
- Fork Truck Licence.
