About the role

You’re an innovative thinker, passionate about the planet and eager to play a role in creating sustainable packaging that keeps the world healthy, fed and working. You’ll be checking that all components are produced effectively, efficiently and to Company and Customer standards at all times. 

 

You will report to the Production Manager and the working hours are dependent on department.

Shifts will consist of Double days (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm)

 

Key Job Accountabilities 

As part of the Quality Controller Team you’ll be responsible for…

  • To carry out work instructions for start of production as laid down in the IMS manual. 
  • Sorting of labels and ‘packing specs’ for production. 
  • Control quality of all components produced 
  • To carry out all post-production quality checks as required. 
  • To carry out 4 hourly checks on all production machines as required. 
  • To carry out daily retention checks on all flip-top components. 
  • To carry out component capacity checks as required. 
  • To check all colours against standards and file away and record new colour standards to keep system up to date. 
  • Ensure all components are packaged, labelled and palletised in line with customer and company requirements. 
  • To liaise with shift supervisors on all production problems.

Qualifications/Requirements 

  • Plans and organises own work, ensuring a high level of accuracy in all work undertaken.  
  • The ability to work on one’s own initiative to achieve objectives, taking accountability for own work/actions.  
  • Ability to communicate effectively, particularly verbally.  
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain the required level of work output for the position.  
  • Highly driven, ensuring that the job is done well and recognising the importance of customer satisfaction in their work.  
  • Proven ability to work to specific work quality standards.  
  • Confident in challenging existing practices and looking for continuous improvement in all areas of work.  
  • Is able to work as part of a team to achieve team objectives 
  • Able to respond positively to changing work demands  
  • Is conscientious and thorough in all aspects of work responsibilities and has a professional approach to work Takes decisive action to address and react to opportunities and problems in day-to-day work.  
  • Ability to monitor quality of others work, ensuring procedures are followed.  
  • Ability to listen, give advice and recommendations to people in a positive and constructive manner.
