Production Controller - Tubes

About the role
To control all production within the department ensuing planned and unplanned work is carried out effectively, efficiently and to the company and customers standards at all time
To produce daily production figures on all Tubes lines. Monitoring the AEE information from the Gemba system, liaising with staff to improve input and amending where necessary
Monday – Thursday 7am to 4pm, Friday 7am – 1pm
Key Job Accountabilities
- Weekly timesheets and sickness summary’s to be sent to HR and Payroll
- Completion of casual timesheets every week
- Attend daily production huddles with info from the last 24hrs and what is coming up in the current day
- Support the supervisors to ensure we have correct staffing levels to run the lines
- Assign causal staff work for the upcoming week, communicating with different departments on site if staff are available elsewhere
- Book in Masterbatch and Labels onto the NAV system, as well as stock taking these consumables once production has been completed
- Liaise with warehouse staff and tray makers to ensure all lines have the correct consumables to run the jobs on the programmes
- Work with the planner to produce production programmes ensuring running orders are as efficient as possible
- Print and prepare job packs, ensuring the correct ink or masterbatch standards are present to run production
- Investigate and send data on all order shortages within the department and communicate this information to sales and planning
- Monitor Gemba so that all rejects and correct downtime codes are inputted as well as accurate design and line change times.
- Raise and respond to all relevant NPR’s whether it is internal to Tubes or an External issue down in the decoration department.
- Perform AQL checks on non-conforming products when quality issues arise, with help from supervisors and technical staff
- Provide AEE stats and graphs exported from Gemba for weekly operations reviews
- Plan in samples with the planning department, once completed ensure they’re delivered to the correct teams onsite.

Qualifications/Requirements
- Good computer literacy skills, including working knowledge of Word and Excel
- Strong numerical skills
- Ability to work on one’s own initiative to achieve objectives and taking accountability for work/actions undertaken
- The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, at all levels within the company and with customers
- Confident in challenging existing practices and looking for continuous improvement in all areas of work
- Is able to work as part of a team to achieve team objectives
- Able to respond positively to changing work demands
- Takes decisive action to address and react to opportunities and problems in day to day work
- Is conscientious and thorough in all aspects of work responsibilities, and has a professional approach to work

- Ability to undertake duties in every respect as laid out in the job description (further to training if required)
- Proven experience of working in a fast-moving production environment
- A-C Grades GCSE in Maths and English
- Clait (or equivalent level 2 I.T. qualification)
