About the role

You’re an innovative thinker, passionate about the planet and eager to play a role in creating sustainable packaging that keeps the world healthy, fed and working. The role of Customer Development Manager is to identify and develop business opportunities with new and existing customers to maximise the revenue from these.

You will report to the Commercial Operations Manager and working hours are 39hrs a week. Monday – Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-4pm

 

Key Job Accountabilities 

As part of the Customer Service Team you’ll be responsible for…

  • To manage existing new business accounts and increase sales revenue and profitability on these.
  • Develop new business using product extension and product development skills.
  • To focus on existing accounts and developing new business from active management of intelligence and information to achieve high conversion rates.
  • To proactively manage internal sales activities to target accounts for profit.
  • To make customers aware of our portfolio, resulting in sales diversification of new services and new products.
  • To work as part of a team of Customer Managers to maintain an overview and awareness of all projects and new product development.
  • To provide information to your Manager relating to all areas of new business opportunity in new market sectors.
  • To identify opportunities for the development of standard or bespoke products and services that predict the aspirations of the customer base.
  • To manage customer complaints in an effective and considered manner.
  • To manage customers in an effective manner to achieve company objectives and targets.

Qualifications/Requirements 

  • Applicants should have A* - C /4-9 at GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Competence of working within a sales role including contacting potential new clients
  • Excellent team awareness and ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing customers demands
  • Ability to work on own initiative to achieve objectives and taking accountability for work/actions undertaken
  • Highly driven, ensuring that the job is done well and recognising the importance of customer satisfaction in their work
  • Conscientious and thorough in all aspects of work responsibilities, and has a professional approach to work
  • Confident in making constructive and innovative suggestions
  • Confident in challenging existing practices and looking for continuous improvement in all areas of work
