About the role

We are seeking a Category Manager Additives managing an annual spend of around $100M+. This is a highly strategic position focused on driving consolidation within existing supply chains, enabling Amcor to fully leverage its scale and deliver cost efficiencies. The role requires strong leadership in supplier management, strategic sourcing, and collaboration across regional and global teams to optimize procurement processes and strengthen our competitive advantage.

Key Job Accountabilities

  1. Drive commercial negotiations across suppliers and regions.
  2. Lead contract discussions ensuring compliance and value creation.
  3. Build reliable data sets to run RFQ tenders at regional and global levels.
  4. Work closely with R&D to improve material flexibility and enhance purchasing leverage.
  5. Align with site operations to communicate changes in suppliers and materials.
  6. Execute strategies that deliver value and increase Amcor’s technical and commercial leverage.
  7. Drive supplier and grade rationalization to optimize cost and performance.
  8. Identify opportunities for consolidation and innovation within the category.
  9. Deliver market insights and cost forecasts to support business decisions.
  10. Monitor industry trends and assess risks to maintain competitive advantage.
  11. Act as a key member of the global category team, representing EMEA.
  12. Track performance against category strategy and report progress.
  13. Support global initiatives and share best practices across regions.

Qualifications/Requirements

  1. Result orientated, strategic, work within a matrix structure
  2. Inquistive, confident communicator, agile
  3. Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
  4. Ability to develop and implement category strategies that deliver value
  5. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across multiple regions
  6. Proficiency in procurement systems and data analysis tools (SAP, Excel, Power BI)
  7. Fluent in English; additional European languages are an advantage..Good relationship manager (make and maintain professional contacts with different people at different levels in and outside the company)
