JOB PURPOSE  

Amcor’s aspiration is to be the global leader in Flexible Packaging. The Amcor Flexibles EMEA Operations Excellence Organization (OPEX) plays a crucial role in building Continuous Improvement mindset and in supporting sites across the Business Group to deliver significant and sustainable cost savings through CI projects.

The Operation Excellence Manager Film and Foil will contribute in delivering the step change required in terms of operational performance improvement and CI mindset transformation, as part of the Fit For Growth agenda, by coaching, supporting and promoting continuous-improvement culture, projects and initiatives within the respective manufacturing sites.

JOB DIMENSIONS & SCOPE  

  • 4 film extrusion and 1 foil dedicated plants across 5 countries in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Support to non-dedicated sites operating extrusion lines.  

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES  

  • Support the coordination, development and drive of CI initiatives in the BU, within CI team, and across functions when required.
  • Coach and promote the development of Continuous Improvement mindset in the plants and within the BU team.
  • Participate actively in the development of Continuous Improvement agenda and Roadmap, within CI function and respective BU.
  • Diagnose plants and set aspirational improvement targets.
  • Support delivery of CI projects in line with the plan.
  • Introduce and apply appropriate CI tools and methodologies and best practices.
  • Engage, in conjunction with the rest of CI team, the site management, their teams and key stakeholders in the transformation effort.
  • Communicate progress and celebrate success.
  • Collaborate pro-actively with teams across AFEMEA to leverage best practice and drive a ‘’One Amcor’’ approach.
  • With the SMEs, develop, document and codify the Amcor Flexibles Production System (AFPS) including KPIs, standards and process best practices.
  • Embed the AFPS at each site in a sustainable way.
  • Provide training around key Operations Excellence improvement levers.
  • Mentor and support all co-workers in up-skilling, also through promotion of internal trainings.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS  

  1. Formal Qualifications and Experience 
  • 5 + years of experience in Operations Excellence / Continuous Improvement.  
  • Deep knowledge of extrusion technologies ( blown & cast) , resins and film applications 
  • Experience on supporting significant change / transformation projects within a multi-site manufacturing environment. 
  • First experience of Lean and continuous improvement methodologies e.g. Six Sigma, Kaizen etc. 
  • Degree in a science, technology or engineering subject preferred; advanced degree advantageous.
